But, What is With That 'Stache?!

So, now Fullmetal Alchemist is truly, completely over as the final episode of FMA:B has aired. *sniffle* But, it was a really great episode. It put nice animation to all of my favorite moments from the manga plus adding some little bits that were much appreciated. There was just one thing...

WHY DOES ROY HAVE A MOUSTACHE IN HIS FINAL PHOTO?! WHY, BONES, WHY????!!!

Fortunately, a couple of fanfic authors have assured me that Riza can and will end this hairy monster:
First, randomcheeses' Mustangche (since removed, sadly) and then deranged black kitten of doom's aptly named Thing of Evil.

Yeah, I'm sure this means I've lost what little of it I had left - wibbling over a fictional character's facial hair.

And, it seems there will be another Fullmetal Alchemist movie! However, my hopes for that will be dashed if the latest rumors are true and it's live action. Even if they gave it a good budget, an out of this world casting job and splendid well-chosen effects (the chances of which are all iffy on their own), it would probably still mean doing some sort of retelling of the storyline to introduce it to a new audience. And, what I really, really wanted to see was a stand-alone adventure set earlier in the storyline. Something like the novels, set during the three years Ed and Al travelled around before the main story began. Also... I'm an animation fan. Live action doesn't have nice drawings for me to drool over.

To be quite truthful, I'm... actually kind of glad to hear the movie is rumored to be live-action. If it was a "Brotherhood" animation, I can't help feeling it would further delay any chance of people going back and re-embracing the first anime.

In that case, I would far, far rather see them go back and sequel "Conqueror of Shamballa". There is that bomb the brothers were supposed to be tracking down, after all. And, you know, I was never quite convinced Dante died. Anime villains (and ninja in... anything) who die without any sign of a body are more than a little suspicious in my book.

I'm also a little afraid of a Japanese actor in a blond wig. But... even more than that... I want my pretty art even if it's a pointless compilation movie.

YES. I want to see them find that bomb and use it to open a gate to get back home.

(Well, specifically, I want to see Amelia Earhart!Winry help them do that, as I've related on my journal. I may yet have to write that someday, if nobody else does.)

That I could get behind. And, I'd like to see both alt!Winry and alt!Mustang (preferably not as a villain) in any capacity. Though Amelia!Winry would be extra awesome.

I plan to include alt!Mustang fairly prominently in "Blood Ties". No alt!Winry, but the Amestris scenes will focus strongly on her.

I don't either. I'm fervently hoping it's just not so. I'd even let them keep the moustache if I could get an animated movie instead. (Hey, I could always pretend the moustache then met its fate after the movie.)
