Drabble Post - Responsibility (FMA)

kristenskWow, this October 3rd drabble didn't want to work with me. I think I wrote three completely different starts. But, who knows? Maybe I'll do something with them later. Anyways, this time, Mustang gets some focus since I've done so many with the most obvious characters of Ed, Al, and Winry.
Responsibility
The Fullmetal Alchemist was Colonel Mustang’s responsibility. The Elric brothers were not.
Still, Mustang made it his business to keep tabs on the pair. That was practical. It helped manage the damage control. Less practical was his habit of having a lead ready for them every October. Sometimes, it was one he’d held back months earlier. Sometimes, they were already off chasing fresh rumors, and he’d put it aside for later. But, he always had something prepared, something to encourage them to keep going.
Because the Elric brothers weren’t the Colonel’s responsibility. But, Roy Mustang thought they might be his.
