So, that illustration for [livejournal.com profile] jordannamorgan's "Family"? Might be almost done. I'm in the home stretch anyways. Here is the current, nearly complete version with all of the color placed and a tentative background sketched in.

The background is based on the Hughes' living room as seen here. Though that brilliant blue wasn't working for me, and the coffee table has been moved to accommodate Al.

I have some little details to fight with and some lighting to tweak, but... it's close? Though it's supposed to be Christmas in the fanfic, so I think some decorations are in order. Maybe a wreath on the window? Snow outside?

Once again, I'm just in awe with that detail on Al. ::lovesloves it!::

And, I say some snow outside the window and maybe some garland around the curtains?

Whee! Glad you like it! And, is Al's far leg too short? It's starting to look short to me. ::thinks:: You know, I had debated using my action figure for poses, but I'm pretty sure this isn't one he can do.

I do think I want snow. You know me ;) And, garlands how? Draped around the sides?

Of course you want snow. Weirdo. And, I was thinking around the curtains or even on the curtain rod.

And, it is a bit, yeah. I asked Rave and he said to maybe stretch that leg a bit towards the third girl's (the one with the K) shoulder, maybe a little below her shoulder.

Snow is wondermous. Do not mock my snow!

And, people wrap garlands around curtains? ::makes a note to look for photos, it sounds pretty::

Towards her shoulder? As in up (toward the top of the image)? I was thinking stretch it more out (heading toward the right of the screen - viewer right). But then, that would make his feet not line up... wouldn't it? Or would it just require his leg to bend more?

I mock your snow! It's pretty to look at, yes, but walking through the sludge? Nuh uh! Mockmockmock!

Around the curtains, or even on the window pane. Something like this.

And, I think it'd require his leg to bend just a little more and move it towards the right side rather than the top.

Boots. Boots make it all good. Oh, and I see your mocking Ed there. He's just saying that because he can't see over the drifts.

Hmm... I'll have to play with that. Decorations are fun. (I say this until the fiftieth individual holly leaf...)

I'll have to fiddle with it this evening and see what you guys think ;)

You see what you did? That little crack (rimshot) extended all the way to the War Room.

Now look at him. :;puts on a helmet::

::snortDIES!::

Do I need a helmet or a gas mask? Meh. ::gets both, a bulletproof vest and a riot shield::

*SQUEE* Adorableness! :D

I'm not good at drawing (at least not anymore), so I can't speak to the technical aspects of the picture. I just know I love it!

Glad to hear you like it so far!

If I can get Al's leg sorted out, I don't think there are too many other things to piddle with besides finalizing the background.
