SKFFA Update - July
Jul. 23rd, 2008 02:37 pmWebsite Updates: At last, the SWAT Kats Fanfiction Archive is updated! But, thanks to the delay, it's a fairly large update. Additionally, I went through the entire Archive and did some link checking. Some of the fanfics hosted off-site are no longer available and are now listed as such. Several fanfics that hadn't seen updates since 2005 were labelled "unfinished". And, so forth.
Edit: Additionally, there is a new writing challenge up!
Also, I'm debating a new layout for the Archive. However, I'm not sure how much I should change the current setup. Suggestions are welcomed! What do you think would make browsing the site easier? Should I use graphics or different-colored text to make updated fanfics stand out better in the main listing? Should I change from listing a story's filesize to listing its word count? If you have any improvement suggestions, let me know!
The one thing I cannot do (at least not without help) is create a fancy system like Fanfiction.Net. I would love to have FFN's search engine capabilities and its options for sorting by genre, rating, completed/in-progress, etc. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to program such a thing. Of course, if anyone knows how to do so or has any ideas on how to create similar but simpler functions, again, let me know.
