Drabble Post - Repair (FMA)

It's October 3rd again, so here's an FMA drabble. This time a sort of continuation to my 2018 entry, Rebuild (mangaverse setting), but can stand on its own.
Repair
The air was cool and damp and filled with the irregular thump of hammers. A storm had blown in on the last gasp of summer and brought an old oak down against the Weber’s new house.
Ed had surveyed the damage earlier that morning along with several other men from Resembool. It wasn’t bad, and, with all the help that came, they should have the place good as new by afternoon.
Ed was relieved. He and Al sold the property to the Webers a year ago, and it had been nice to see a new house on the hill where his childhood home once stood. A place free of old memories and making new ones.
And, the irony wasn’t lost on him. Ten years ago to the day, he was here, burning a house down. Now, he was back, helping rebuild one.
It was an equivalent exchange all its own.
