kristensk | Drabble Post - Showdown (AnE)

So, Ao no/Blue Exorcist chapter 121 gave me some nice inspiration. First is this little drabble taking a stab at what might come next as

mintysage and I still hope for Toudo to make a reappearance. And, there's at least one more coming.

Showdown

They faced one another, eyes narrowing.

Before Rin could throw another, more controlled, punch at his brother, a voice cut across the hangar.

“So rude, Mr. Okumura.”

Rin looked to see a man – demon? – with funny ears and yellow flames waltzing into the room. The man barely acknowledged Rin with a flick of his eyes before they fixed on Yukio.

“You interrupted my death,” he accused.

“Wha—? Who?” Rin asked.

“Todo Saburota,” Yukio hissed venomously, eyes similarly locked on the man-demon.

“Oh.” Rin studied Yukio’s face and then stepped back.

Yukio dared a quick, disbelieving glance his way.

“You said you don’t need my help anymore.” Rin shrugged and leaned against the nearest wall. “It’s obviously your fight. Fight it.”

Todo seemed amused by that. “And, what if I win?”

Rin didn’t look at him, instead giving Yukio a fanged grin, blue eyes bright as he answered, “You won’t.”
