kristenskSo, ever since I saw the Ao no/Blue Exorcist movie with all the (completely un-commented upon) weird ruins beneath True Cross Academy, I've wondered about the school's origins and its connection to Mephisto, who is, after all, the King of Time. And, I want to write something about all that one of these days. This is not that something. “This place is crazy,” Rin muttered. Yukio had taken a different route to the exorcist supply shop, and it only showed off even more of True Cross Academy’s crazy, brain-breaking architecture. “How did they build it anyway?”
“As I understand it, Sir Pheles built the Academy.”
“The clown?” Rin stared at his brother’s back. “What? With his own two hands?”
“Likely by waving his own two hands,” Yukio answered, swishing one hand like a magician.
Rin snorted. “While saying, ‘Abracadabra’?”
“He seems to prefer German.”
“So, like…” Rin waved both hands over his head, “Schnitzel!”
Yukio didn’t look. “Something like that.”
“Mmm…” Rin looked toward the distant gothic spires of the school and waved his arms wildly as he tried to remember every word he’d ever heard in German. “STRUDEL! SAUERBRATEN! BRATWURST!”
Yukio finally stopped to give him a flat stare. “Are you done?”
“Oh!” Rin waggled his fingers. “SONNENBLUMENKERNBROT!”
There was an explosion of pink smoke, and Mephisto was suddenly standing in front of them.
“Very well!” he announced. “You’ve forced my hand.” He pointed his umbrella at Rin. “You will be my personal chef. I take dinner at six.”
Then, he disappeared as quickly as he had come.
