Another "Ed's Rules (for dealing with crazy alchemists and angry townspeople)" written for genex as a little gift for jordannamorgan.


Rule #3

Violence is the answer.

At least, about sixty percent of the time it is. There’s another thirty-five or so percent where it’s part of the answer.

Ed knows Al doesn’t agree with that, but Al is an optimist. (Al also doesn’t understand that violence is absolutely, positively necessary in response to insults about Ed’s height. You can’t let slander like that stand. It’s a matter of honor.)

So, violence. It’s a requirement out there. Because the world is full of crazed lunatics - most of them violent - who won’t listen to anything but a steel fist in the face.

I still think it would be entertaining to subject Ed to those "problems that can't be solved by hitting" bingo prompts. ;D

*laughs at the prompt* You realize that I'm immediately hearing Ed saying, "So, what about kicking?"

*laughs* Oh, yes, he really would say that. :D Although I used it as the basis for an entire fic before, I'm pretty sure even more needs to be made of Ed's mastery of the art of loopholes.

(...Especially if he could pull a loophole on the Gate. That would be epic.)

Too true. And, Ed would probably consider using alchemy a loophole too ;) And, if he couldn't use alchemy... well, he still knows the chemical make-up of all kinds of things; I'm sure he could MacGyver some terrifyingly awesome solutions. ...I'm thinking of a "Mustang challenged him not to" situation here, but, you know, CoS needed some chemical MacGyvering too.

Yes! Especially given all of Dante's loophole abuse of the Gate.
