Snow Day and SKFFA Update - January 2016

It snowed! And, it was glorious. Hot chocolate and wondermous homemade tomato soup were consumed, blankets were snuggled into, and not much got done.

But, having finally gotten some entries, I did update the SWAT Kat Fanfiction Archive with one new oneshot and the first two chapters of a new ongoing story.

Also, in the spirit of snowy days, I made two snow-themed Ao no/Blue Exorcist icons using the latest color manga image:

Glad to hear you apparently didn't get any of the *bad* weather!

I'm still glancing over new issues of the manga (waiting for something interesting to actually happen regarding whatever Yukio's powers are there). It's probably quite terrible that my response to Shura's final declaration was, "Um, yes please?" *just can't muster any liking of Shura... and her disdain for proper upper-body garments*

(BTW, you know those buttons I've sent you with chibi-ish art of different anime characters? Did I give you a Shiemi one before? I didn't remember who I included besides Rin and Yukio, and I know you identify with Shiemi... so I picked one up yesterday. *g*)

I'm sure some people here are calling it very bad ;) But, I got work done early in anticipation of being snowed in and didn't have anywhere to go, so it was a nice weekend.

While I'm happy that delving into Shura's backstory will have to include more about how Shiro saved her, I was really hoping Rin and Yukio would get the chance to actually talk to one another. Besides seeing Yukio's powers come out, I want Rin in the know about them. He could help, Yukio, you idiot!

*laughs that she just sent you a message ending in a mention of Shura* I actually like her as a character, but, yes, wish she weren't the designated fan service. (Nor do I want anyone else to be either, mind you. ...I don't think my love of Rin's sweet smiles is the kind of "fan service" anyone else wants.) By virtue of being Shiro's student (and, yes, probably because of the magnificent ongoing fanfic "Veränderung"), I think of her as Rin and Yukio's annoying big sister.

You did actually! I have her pinned up beside Rin and Yukio. ...Not that I'm opposed to more, but, of course, if you have other uses for it...

I see the big-sister thing about Shura, too. But the operative word is "annoying"... and the fanservice. :Þ You know, in certain weird ways, I think the reaction she gets from me has similarities to how I feel about Winry.

*laughs* No. I like Shiemi (and can relate to her a bit myself), but she isn't the first "Blue Exorcist" character I'd consider adding to my button tapestry. ;)

(What I really want on a button is Dark from "DNAngel--which just isn't anywhere to be had--or ones with *official* art of Fai and Kurogane, which may be just as unlikely. I am eyeing "Case Closed" and "Seraph of the End" buttons on my business source, but I don't know when I'm going to make another order, and I haven't succeeded in nudging April to get them.)

Huh... And, I like both of them. Though I honestly think I could write more with Shura. ...Probably because she has a sword. I'm a sucker for sword-wielders.

Awww... It's surprising that even the less-than-legal dealers haven't slapped something official with Fai and Kurogane on a button.

Someone somewhere probably has, but I just keep seeing the same handful of sellers in the small events that are all I've been able to go to. Maybe the new manga continuation of "Tsubasa Chronicle" will kick up some fresh interest in time.

(As it is, besides the two little buttons I just got, I think a pencil board featuring Fai, Kurogane, and Mokona is literally the only non-DVD/manga "Tsubasa" item I have. It doesn't help that most of the merch that does exist is heavy on Syaoran and Sakura, whose presence I'd rather have at a minimum on anything I might buy.)
