Pairing Shenanigans

Well, I was wandering around one of the Inuyasha's forums where I tend to lurk and came across this little posting with various types of romantic pairings listed. Now, everyone knows I'm no big fan of romance (though I admit that I do make some exceptions to that rule where Inuyasha is concerned), but Sage and I decided to half-jokingly propose our responses to the pairings. It was fun, so here's my responses for both SWAT Kats and Inuyasha. (No response is intended to screech, "You're an idiot!" at anyone who supports said pairing or be in any way offensive. It's just my own joking opinion on what I've seen online, and I claim it to be nothing but opinionated.)

SWAT Kats:

"One True Pairing" -- Uhm... T-Bone/TurboKat?

"Canon Pairing" -- Mac/Molly, T-Bone/TurboKat

"If This Happens I'll Stab My Eyes Out With a Spork" -- T-Bone/Turmoil, Callie/Feral

"It's Like a Car Crash!" -- Razor/Mary Sue

"I Dabble in it a Little" -- Chance/Callie (yeah, okay, a little... sorta)

"Everyone Else Loves It, But I Just Don't Feel It" -- Jake/Callie

"Makes No Canon Sense, But Why Not?" -- Thou shalt not defy canon without the support of a legitimate, well thought out alternate universe setting and great care.


Inuyasha:

"One True Pairing" -- Inuyasha/Kagome (The one pairing of all the pairings in any fandom I enjoy that I actually care about.)

"Canon Pairing" -- Inuyasha/Kagome, Miroku/Sango, Inu-Papa/Izayoi (aka "Inu-Mama"), Sesshoumaru/Himself

"If This Happens I'll Stab My Eyes Out With a Spork" -- Houjou/Kagome (his ears are inferior), Sesshoumaru/Kagome, Naraku/Anyone

"It's Like a Car Crash!" -- Inuyasha/Bad Fanfic! Kagome (aka "Mary Sue Kagome" and "KickButt Kagome" - the twisted abuse of a good character created when authors ignore canon characterization and try to make Kagome "better")

"Everyone Else Loves It, But I Just Don't Feel It" -- Sesshoumaru/Kagura, Kohaku/Rin

"Makes No Canon Sense, But Why Not?" -- See above.
