Drabble Post - Double Dipping (AnE)
That story prompt
jordannamorgan sent me about identical twins sharing a demon has proven very inspirational. Even though, again, this little ficlet has almost nothing to do with it. Also, no, I don't plan to continue this. It's an idea that's mostly been done, and I wrote my version almost entirely for the punchline. And, because Shiemi's awesome.
Double Dipping
Shiemi looked at the slip of paper in her hands. It was supposed to be able to summon a demon. A familiar that would help her.
Maybe... Sort of like a friend.
Shiemi bit her lip. A friend would be nice. After an exorcist had come and exorcised the demon infesting her legs, she’d joined the exorcist cram school, hoping to get stronger. It would be nice to not be so alone doing it.
There was a gust of wind, and she looked across the room to see that two beautiful white foxes had suddenly appeared on either side of Miss Kamiki.
Shiemi stared in wonder. Amazing. Miss Kamiki was so talented.
Could she summon something like that? She wanted to try.
Pricking her finger, Shiemi searched her mind for words.
“Come… Come…”
No, that sounded silly! She wanted…
A friend. To be stronger. To find something only she could do.
The paper in her hands suddenly glowed and then burst into bright blue flames.
Yelping, Shiemi dropped it, stepping back.
Directly into someone.
“Oi, watch it!”
“I’m s—”
Stammering, Shiemi turned.
Two boys she’d never seen before were standing behind her. They had dark hair, bright blue eyes, and pointed demon ears.
“It’s no trouble, Miss. Please ignore Brother’s rudeness.” The taller one with glasses smiled at her.
“Che,” the other muttered.
Shiemi stared. They were— She had summoned—
Excitedly, she turned back to the rest of the class. “Miss Kamiki, look! I—I summoned two demons too!”

*ponders* I do wonder where the idea could go. Though I'd have to decide what sort of lives the twins have been living. Are they truly full demons? Were they summoned from Gehenna or have they been living in the human realm? Given Yukio's calm, were they possibly trying to be summoned as part of an escape? From Gehenna? From the exorcists? And, whose side are they on? (At the start; we all know I'll have them good guys before I'm done. It's how I roll.)
Augh! So many possibilities!

And, yes, I thought it would be fun if both twins were demons.
