(Oh, and because I failed to mention it before: Fuery with messenger pigeons is ADORABLE. *g* I love the different ways we've both played with him as the "communications guy" in our AUs.)

Also, as to the world-building: if you're going to bring up any of the interrelations between dragons and alchemy that we'd talked about, then I wouldn't worry about throwing in steampunk too. I think some of that had the potential to be very interesting and complex. :)
